Welcome to my new blog! I am looking forward to daily postings about our lives here in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and I look forward to sharing the pictures that I take of the area and of my world.
It is New Year's Eve, and I think I'm headed west to spend the holiday with my West End friend. The only reason that I may be held up could be if the roads are icy or if it starts to storm, which is a distinct possibility according to the weather reports.
Still, I am a trooper on the U.P. roads- I've been driving all my life up here and if I really need to get somewhere, I can make it.
I'm so glad to be able to post on my personal blog again! I have another blog that I use for technical research, but having a blog in which I can just write and share my daily life is something I have missed.
Yesterday my First Ex gave me two very appreciated gifts- two of those curly cue lightbulbs with output of 100 watts (they only use 23 watts) so the kitchen AND my basement computer room are bright as day! I'm so grateful, as we have been living with 25 watt lightbulbs in 90% of our lamps to save money, and it has been getting might dim in here when it's overcast outside!
I had such a great time with my First Ex yesterday- it really surprised me. We are good 'buds'- we've been divorced for over 15 years and have forged quite a friendship since the old days when we used to fight like cats and dogs. Now we can 'hang' together once a week or so and can appreciate eachother's company.
Yesterday he took me shopping for our oldest son and his mate, and then we went to a restaurant and he told me stories about the signs he's installed all around Marquette. It was fun!
It was the nicest time I've had in a while, and with Christmas now over, I have no pressure to get things done for the holidays and can relax and enjoy myself.
And, boy did I!
